In a blanket of
         midnight with stars
                Like tears in the fabric
                        With light shining thru.
I tip my head back
           And opened my mouth
                   I could swallow whole
                           The night and lights.
It drops lower so slow
            Almost seems imagined
                   My breath stutters, halts
                              Then it recedes again.
I know I could've flown
Or at the very least kissed
                        The moon in the sky
                             Yet there was no trust.
