Do You Believe Now? Read Count : 48

I've never believed in the paranormal or anything related. I'm not a religious person, and I never really thought of what might happen if heaven and hell might actually exist.

Well, not until three hours ago at least.

"Maybe you shouldn't be in here, Ms. Jacky. Even though you've told me you are a non-believer, it will be hard to watch a child go through something like this." The robed man suggested with a Sympathetic gleam in his eyes.

"I told Amanda that I'd watch. Cody's not leaving my sight until she's with her parents again." I stated bluntly.

"Let her stay. Her friend might need her once the exorcism has been completed. Brother Mason, just please make sure she doesn't get too close." Says the priest as he prepares his Bible.

Never would I have imagined that my life decisions would lead me here, watching my friend's child have an exorcism in my own bed while her parents sobbed downstairs.

Brother Mason stood from the bedside and placed a comforting hand on the small of my back as the priest began. Things went South real fast. First, the temperature felt like it dropped to the negatives. It was so sudden, it was impossible that someone adjusted the thermostat.

Even though I was wearing a rather short pair of shorts and a thin long sleeved shirt, it wasn't a problem when I snuggled into the man, who gladly took me into his arms. He probably thought I was getting scared. But scared wasn't even close to describing what I felt next.

Petrified is a better word. I watched as the 9 year old spoke in tongues, growled and snapped at the elderly priest, and struggled as she fought the restraints that tied her to the bed. She didn't even sound human.

If she was acting, she's one hell of an actress. If she wasn't, the world is fucked.

"O-oh... Oh my god..." Is all I could manage to say in a barely audible whisper. I wanted to yell at the doctor and the priest and demand what was going on as if I didn't already know the answer.

My body began to tingle and I loose feeling in my fingers. I could hardly concentrate on one thing. I'm forcefully thrown to the ground and my mouth begins to move out of my control. "Tu modo creditis?"
