Why is it that some people who made every excuse to avoid military service become so militaristic later in life?

Case in point, our Dear Leader. Trump got five deferments from the draft because of "some foot thing" as he recalled and described during the campaign.

Fortunately, his "foot thing" has never impeded his golf game, but nevertheless, the question remains: why is Trump so quick to threaten military action before trying every diplomatic initiative?

Making veiled military threats to a mentally imbalanced tyrant like Kim Jong Un is not in the best interests of the United States or the world.

North Korea is not Syria or Afghanistan. Even if North Korea never used their nuclear arms, they could easily inflict enormous carnage on South Korea and the 140,000 Americans, including our troops, living there.

My read on Trump is that since he has never been held accountable for his decisions, actions and words, he has no empathy  for the real world consequences that others must bear. The old saying, "s@#* rolls down hill" seems to apply here. Many thousands of people will become at risk for their lives if we initiate a conflict in Korea or if we push Kim Jong Un into a proverbial corner. 

Our best hope is that the military advisors around Trump can have enough influence to guide him into using a military response as an absolute last resort.

I hope I am proved wrong, but I see Trump continuing in his cavalier approach, especially if his problems with Russian collusion deepen. What more effective diversion than a war to get us to look away?
