The table was littered with maps and papers, Delilah rubbed her eyes and sighed while picking up a piece of paper and looking over it. Sure, she couldn’t get tired like humans could but that didn’t mean that she couldn’t get weary. Another sigh escaped her lips and her icy-blue hues looked up when the door opened, a smile stretched across her lips at least until the person was fully inside. “Thomas” she greeted as her bright blue hues dimmed down to a darker color “Lady Delilah” he retorted with an easy-going grin on his boyish face, the stack of papers sat on her table made her sigh again. “Let me guess these are more reports from our spies?” She asked pulling the stack to her and started looking them over. Thomas nodded his head not that she saw but she felt the movements, he then proceeded to move over and leaned over her shoulder too close to her face.

“As you can see the reports are stating that they are losing supporters faster than one of your pets could eat” she glared at the paper refusing to look at him. “I suggest you be careful how you address my animals” she warned, her voice growing colder and he quickly backed away. “Next time you invade my personal space it won’t be me that you will be greeting but instead Scooby” this really caused Thomas to pale “now we don’t need to be too hasty” he placated. The hybrid sniffed at him with an upturned nose and went back to looking over the reports; Thomas let out a sigh of relief and eyed her. While he knew she could mentally handle herself, she was weaker than a normal vampire and everyone knew it. They also knew Lord Kuran very protective of Delilah and that her butler Alexander was just as protective; the relationship seemed to go past butler and mistress.

Some questioned if they were lovers but Delilah, Alexander and Kaname all denied the rumor and the fact she was devoted to Kaname proved this. The two made a ferocious team against opponents. Both were protective of each other but while Delilah had confidence in Kaname and his abilities; but Kaname who also had faith in her abilities to defend herself also had a darker side to his personality that came out when Delilah was hurt. No one wanted to be on the bad side of Kaname by doing anything to Delilah especially anything that had her running to him. The loyalty the two showed was something most strived for; everyone Delilah was unattainable by any male and Kaname was unattainable by any females. Everyone had heard or witnessed what Delilah had did to the woman that had pursued Kaname.

Delilah was oblivious to all of this, to all that people thought of Kaname and Delilah being together as her eyes continued to slide over the papers rapidly. Thomas was now keeping his distance and explaining some of the items on the reports. “There has also been whispers of plots for kidnapping on you Lady Delilah or assassinations on Lord Kuran” Delilah’s head snapped up to stare straight at Thomas with flickering hues. “Care to run that by me again?” She hissed out and Thomas visibly gulped as Delilah was still as dangerous as Kaname Kuran despite her young age. “There has been whispers among the enemy camps about plots to kidnap you and assassination Lord Kuran” Delilah let out a dark hiss and her nails dug into the wood as she attempted to control her anger. Suddenly the feeling of calm swept over her and she smirked “they must know that should they succeed in taking me that nothing will prevent Kaname from going into a rage and possibly single handily destroying the whole army” she was adamant and Thomas did not doubt that; that is what would happen.

The anger was back again the wood beneath her now had gouges within the grains “it is the thought of them attempting to hurt Scooby that vexes me more” it was taking all of Delilah’s willpower to not throw a massive fit and knock the items off the table. “Leave” she barked to Thomas who complied and rushed out without so much as a goodbye. Delilah had always been someone who could control her emotions but when it came to Kaname all that careful work went out the window and anger took over. Taking a calming breath, she finally felt herself relax and with a vengeance started working harder at the plans she drew out and the reports the spies were sending. It had been very tricky to get someone within the ranks of the enemy but they had succeeded. Delilah had played a major part in that having planned it down to every single letter of a back-up plan.

Another knock hours later had her lifting her head but once again it was not the person she was expecting “Lady Kuran” the young woman said bowing in respect. She gave a nod of her in greeting “Eleanor” and waited for the vampire to tell her why she interrupted the hybrid. The blonde woman shuffled back and forth nervously “Lady Kiran...” she trailed off unsure of what to say. “Eleanor, I am not a psychic, I cannot read your mind but something is obviously bothering you and you should spit it out” she was in no mood to be polite. “TherewasaskirmishandLordKuranisnowmissing” the woman blurted and flinched. Delilah blinked as her mind quickly processed what was just said; when it finally registered her Icey-blue hues had flashed to her original lime-green although they rapidly darkened to almost black. The table underneath her hands cracked from the pressure she was applying “what do you mean Scooby is missing?” Her voice was cold and dangerous.

Eleanor flinched harder “just what I said ma’am” she managed to stutter out afraid for her life.
Delilah stood up, slamming her hands onto the table and cracking it more “gather the Shadows” Eleanor nodded and fled to gather the special sector of warriors. They were some of the best and known for their silent killings and ability to blend in with the shadows enough to fool almost any vampire and even Rapture. She left the room she was in and quickly headed to the master bedroom, throwing open the doors she was quick to strip her clothes and head to a special wardrobe that contained her armor. Alexander walked in and watched with his blue eyes “not now Alexander” she said as she strapped the buckles of her chest plate into place.

She pinned her blonde hair up, realizing she may need to cut it again but rather liked it long, especially in the bedroom. She had made sure she had her Ofuda tags but the one weapon she had made sure to keep was a blade that was both beautiful and deadly. It had been her mother’s blade passed from generation to generation of Misericordia leaders; Alexander when he felt she was ready had presented it to her. Delilah looked at the balcony and nodded her head, there was no real reason to use her speed just yet so she moved to the balcony and flipped off the edge to land silently unharmed. Padding down to the area she made it to the courtyard and stared at the men and women in black “it has come to my attention that after a skirmish several miles out with the enemy, Lord Kuran has gone missing.” Delilah’s voice was calm but everyone could hear the underlying anger and see the slitted lime-green eyes.

“I want every single one of you to spread out around the area when we get there and find my mate” Kaname was her husband but now her feral side had taken over which is why she called him her mate. Feeling someone standing next to her she turned her head to look at the tall, imposing man with greying hair and a scar running from his temple all the way down past his shirt. She knew the scar ran to his hip and looped around his back stopping just above his tail bone. “Aeneas, you are in charge with Alexander” she barked out and the man nodded his head. “Good luck Delilah” her eyes softened and she let out a gentle smile before rushing off in a blue that was too fast for most vampires to see.

“I hope he isn’t harmed or all hell will break loose” Aeneas muttered to himself before watching as the new recruit’s battle some of the older ones to gain experience. With both leaders, out of the picture he also had the more powerful vampires and other creatures stationed around the area. There was only one way in and one way out of the forest; he was not worried about the walls being unprotected or someone getting though without notice. Delilah had carefully built the wall to defend itself with the use of arrows, darts, spikes and other surprises made of metals that would hurt even a vampire. Then there were the animals in the forest to consider, they were roaming and waiting for the enemy. “Okay maggots, we are going to do mock battles” he bellowed attempting to keep his mind off Delilah and Kaname.

It didn’t take long for Delilah to reach the field where the skirmish took place, there were several dead Vampires and mortals. Delilah was pleased to see there were more enemies than allies. “Spread out” she commanded to the shadows and walked forward, she was on her guard and it proved to be a wise decision as she quickly dodged the flashing blade. She turned to see a tall priest who didn’t hesitate to attack, she was quickly to continue dodging and using bodies as momentum to jump into the air. “I am not in the mood” she hissed and looked the Priest in the eyes; she was met with a shield over his mind but she countered this by using mental grappling hooks to start tearing down the walls. While doing this she also continued to gracefully dodge and when the shields were torn down she wormed her way into his mind. She didn’t have time to be gentle so she started hammering away at his mind, twisting it and as the man’s screams finally died all that was left was a drooling husk.

This unique ability came when Delilah turned one hundred and came into almost all her vampiric powers; it only worked on weak minded individuals at least that fast and without consequences.

The hybrid herself was tired but didn’t waste any time in calling one of the shadows forward “kill him or leave him alone I care not” she said and the Shadow didn’t hesitate. She took off again and was now searching the forest around the clearing, she heard rustling behind her and slipped her sword from her back. She pretended to not have heard and waited, a minute later had her turning around with the blade and pointing it at the chest of a startled Kaname. “Well I guess that is one way to greet me” he joked holding his side; it was obvious that he was wounded. This didn’t cause her to hesitate though to put away her sword and rush to him, wrapping arms around him and burying her head in his chest; taking in his scent.

“Hey now I am okay” he said wrapping his arms around her and holding her together irrelevant to the pain he was feeling from the deep wound. She said nothing for several moments before finally pulling back and smacking him across the arm “you idiot! I cannot believe you” she spat out. “Do you know how worried I was about you?” She growled out and Kaname knew he was in deep trouble with his smaller wife. “We were set up” he defended himself and luckily for him Delilah paused before shaking her head “we will hunt the mole down later for betraying us, for now let’s get you back” whatever Kaname was about to say to this advice was cut off. Several priests and some vampires glided out of the bushes “well, well we will be rewarded if we bring you head and her back” the leader said with a chuckle. Kaname’s eyes darkened to a red and he growled, pulling Delilah back behind him despite his injury.

“You will not touch her” he spat out and a new battle was finally on, Kaname went head to head with the leader who had mentioned taking Delilah and was doing wonderful despite his wounds. The movements were graceful and he was now blocking and attacking when he got the chance. The leader was skilled but Kaname was better; especially when it came the defending his wife. Knowing he had time he turned to see where Delilah was, she was taking on several vampires and priests; injuring them but never killing them. Her movements were poetry in motion as she attacked and defended. Delilah had admitted she learned dancing when younger and those movements were incorporated into her attacks. They helped make up for her weaker strength “your opponent is me” the man growled realizing Kaname was not focused on him. Despite the distraction, Kaname easily dodged and blocked the swipe of the man’s blade. “Quit watching me and focus” he heard Delilah yell and knew she was correct.
“You wanted full concertation you got it” he was now attacking more ferociously.

This forced the man to be on the defense and not be able to get a good chance for a hit, his moves were frantic and in his panic to survive he became sloppy. Kaname wasted no time in attacking him in an opening and the surprise look on the man’s face when he was impaled was priceless. Kaname felt himself being pushed away and fell with a thud, Delilah on top of him and they were surrounded by Shadows. Both turned their heads to watch as the Shadows spread out and kill any remaining vampires and priests; keeping their leaders at a safe distance.

Asher had started rigging his men to explode in the event they died but there was no way to tell who which is why the Shadow’s had taken over. Delilah nodded her head to the Shadow warriors as a thank you and slowly pulled herself up, Kaname also managed to stand and grinned. “If you wanted to be on top all you had to do is ask” Delilah groaned and smacked him gently “this isn’t a joking matter” she complained as they started walking back to the estate they were using as a base.
“Oh, come on you have to admit it was too perfect” he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her into his uninjured side “of course Scooby, of course” she finally conceded.

“I am so glad to see you safe” she finally said after a few minutes of silent walking, the urge to burst into tears was strong and Kaname stopped to tilt her head up. “I would never die as long as you are alive waiting for me” he assured, bending down to kiss her gently; he gripped her tighter into his side as the kiss turned deeper. There was desperation in that kiss as if they were reassuring themselves that they were alive and together. They finally pulled away and he brushed some of the hair that came loose from her clip away from her face. “Besides I fully intent to have you pop some more kids out, so we both must stay alive” Delilah sighed, apparently the joking came again.

“We don’t need any more kids with you being one yourself” she once again retorted, but the idea pleased her and she had a bright smile on her face; more to the family could wait; for now, they had a war to win.
