Its 12am, my vision is so weak. I pull into an abandon ball field, I just want to sleep. I turn my headlights off and drive down the trail. Hoping no one's sees me, I just want to sleep. Your dog stands by you more than you stand by them. They look at you in worry, but still show the love you need. You tell them always, " we are alright, we are okay, we always figure this out". (this is far from the first time) I pulled down the back seat, reached into the trunk and pulled out a blanket and two pillows. I lie my head down, hoping my plan works. My eyes are coming and going, making sure that every car that drives by is not a cop. Four hours later, the sun came up and we head to a great kennel. I told them upfront, " I am homeless till I can figure something out. I am not giving up on her, I just need her to have a roof over her head till I find us a place." They charged me fifteen dollars, for six nights. I brought her to work with me, and on the days off we spent the day at parks and beaches. She had a roof over her head and that was the most important thing to me. As far as I go, I managed with cracked Windows and friends that helped me out to keep hygiene. So if you're reading this, anyone can get through anything. Always have faith, even in the worst of times, hang on.
