Do you know what I hide behind my smile?
Do you know what I've been through, all these years?
A life of regret, fear and anger...
A soul flooded with shedded tears...

I'm hurt so badly, but no one must know.
So instead, I smile, to show I'm okay...
Instead, I laugh, to hide the bruises.
But everything is fake, it's just a facade.

You'll never get to know the real me...
You'll never get past my thick disguise...
Something I have put to protect my real self.
To protect someone who's lived a life of lies...

I hate it when people ask if there's something wrong.
Can't you tell by the look in my eyes?!
They are too ignorant to even notice the truth.
That I'm drowning deep in this twisted disguise...
