She was an American beautyWith her tattoo and impish smileMade to look like a million bucksIn her torn jeans and shirts of questionable styleShe had a southern accentThat was butter to my earsHat on backwards and hair tied backThat made her look younger than her yearsShe took me on a tripThat I’d never been on beforeTook me around the worldWhen she threw me on the floorHer hillbilly waysWere different than my ownBut she was more funThan I’d ever known beforeShe danced and she shookTo the music playing loudDidn’t mind the gawking eyesOf the ever moving crowdAt the end of the nightShe kissed see me good and longSaid thanks for a good timeAnd our own personal songShe was an American BeautyWith her tattoos and impish smileBut girls like her, in my bookWill never go out of style
