We are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persucted, but not forsaken; struck down but not destroued. 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 16 years ago we woke up to begin our daily routines. Children got ready for school, adults headed off to work. Everyone went about their own business. Little did we know in a few short hours a tragedy would happen right here in our own homeland that would make the whole world stand still. By then end of the day 2,977 people were dead. Most never even had their chance to say goodbye. Of those 2,977, 412 were first responders. Our brothers and sisters put their lives on the line to try to save the lives of people they never even met. They didn't do this for praise or glory. They did so because this was part of their daily routine, it was just simply who they were. Today we will remember all of those who lost their lives that day. We will honor those who put their lives on the line to help those in need. 16 years ago we put our issues to the side and we stood United as one. We were all impacted in someway. We were a nation not of white, black, male, or female; but of family. We were beaten, but not destroyed.
