And to my brother
I give this word
That you are not lost
Your voice is heard

Do not wonder
If you are seen
People walk by 
And ignore what they’ve seen

Some may acknowledge
Some may glance away
But all know of your presence
I give you, on this day

If hunger call for food
For shelter take a roof
For clothing a jacket 
But love, where’s the proof

Is it words spoken
Gifts exchanged
Physical attention
Or time spent in truth

Do you see us
For who we are
Caught up in ourselves
And the lives we live

We are not better than you
Nor richer in ways
Comfort certainly different
Most of our days

Who do you trust
When you are in need
Who do you turn to
Not filled with greed

Do you have an ally
One by your side
One to lead you forward
To protect and provide 

May you find your worth
In this life today
May GOD bless you
As you go on your way
