You tried,
  You hoped, 
  You allowed yourself to love.
  You let him pretty close.

 You shared your dreams with.
  And then he became a ghost, 
  Talking to him...
  He didn't hear your thoughts.
 
Girl, you only saw the sad side of love,
 He took your hand, 
  But didn't take you into his world.

  He kissed you like he couldn't tear
  Himself away from your lips, 
  But honey, he was the first to leave.
