I see the weight behind his eyes,
A storm he masks in each disguise.
He says “I’m fine,” and looks away,
But something deeper fades his day.
His laughter once so full and free,
Now hides in shadows silently.
He drifts like clouds beyond my reach,
And all my love can’t seem to breach.
I want to fix what I can’t name,
To soothe the hurt and take the blame.
I’d trade my breath to heal his pain,
To bring the sun and stop the rain.
So, I will sit beside his night,
To be the calm that holds the light.
