A Part of Poem Collection
The world began and gave me you,
Wrapped in blankets, small and new.
Your fingers curled around my thumb,
A silent vow of all to come.
Each heartbeat soft, each cry a song,
A love so fierce, so pure and strong.
You learned to walk, then ran ahead,
Chasing clouds and dreams instead.
With scraped-up knees and shining eyes,
You reached for stars in endless skies.
Your laughter filled the painted walls,
You built your kingdom from the halls.
With every toy and question asked,
You grew so fast and time unmasked.
The first day of the yellow bus,
You waved goodbye, so brave, to us.
I smiled, then cried behind the door,
Missing the baby boy I adore.
The years unspooled in steady thread,
From bedtime books to things unsaid.
You changed your hair, your voice grew low,
And still I watched and let you go.
There came a time you pulled away,
You needed space in differents way.
Now your grown, so tall and sure,
Eighteen years of something pure.
And though I weep, I also cheer,
For every step that brought you here.
Whatever roads you choose to roam,
This place will always be your home.
