Part of Poem Collection ~ Dedicated to all the parents out there doing their very best to raise their teenagers. ❤️
They built him dreams with care and grace,
And hoped he’d follow with the pace.
They showed him right, they taught him true,
He saw his life in different hues.
He chased the wind and broke the mold,
Refused to do what he was told.
They worried more with every stride,
Each choice he made, each truth he’d hide.
They begged him just to see their view,
He rolls his eyes–“You have no clue.”
They feared he’d fall and lose his way,
He swore he’d find his own one day.
The silence grew and tempers flared,
So many nights were left unshared.
He felt caged up inside the pain,
Each side was tired of casting blame.
But hearts don’t break without a sound,
And love can still be tightly bound.
A moment came with a softened glance,
With second thoughts and a second chance.
They didn’t speak of wrong or right,
Just sat beneath that same dim light.
No perfect words or great advice,
Just shared the weight and broke the ice.
Two worlds collide, but love still guides,
And all the storms of life subside.
