"Silence, My Only Friend" Read Count : 36

In the beginning, love was sweet,
A gentle dance, our hearts would meet.
But now we're lost in endless fights,
Doubt creeps in on sleepless nights.
I seek the calm, the hush so deep.

I give my all, I try my best,
Yet every move fails life's cruel test.
Her words like waves, they crash, they roar,
I stand in silence, bruised and sore.
Let quiet be my soul's lone guest.

Questions swirl inside my mind,
What once was clear, I cannot find.
Every whisper feels so loud,
I long to leave this aching crowd.
Let stillness wrap me, soft and kind.

Oh people, voices, fade away,
I need the peace, no words to say.
Let silence rule, let echoes cease,
No more turmoil, grant me peace.
In quiet's arms, I'll safely stay.
