Imbalance Kindness When I reach out for help, they turn away, Their faces clouded, bothered by my need. My simple asks seem heavy loads to weigh, While I drop all to help when others plead. Each time I ask, impatience fills their eyes, Though when they call, I run without delay. Their sighs grow deep, their shoulders fall and rise, While I set down my tasks and find a way. It hurts to see such different scales at play, One side is so light, the other bearing weight. Some hearts grow tired while others freely sway, Some doors stand closed while others open straight. Yet giving freely makes my spirit strong, And teaches me where kindness does belong. Silindile OkaMaDlamini Hlongwa
