If I were a day, I would be Independence Day. If I were a city, I would be Brazil. If I were a predator, I would be a leopard. I am self-reliant, no nonsense and fast. If you were my lover, you would be New Years Eve in Tuscany, my King Cobra. If we were marine animals, we would be a starfish clinging to the bottom of a fast boat then sleeping in caverns . And if we were birds, we would be hummingbirds often humming our song, Love Hurts, by Nazareth while visiting our flowers, Tulips. If you were a poem, you would tell the tale of the jabberwocky. If I were a poem, I would be in a pen at a store, never purchased, homeless, unwritten, because you, my poet, never found the time.
