High School Boy Read Count : 71

Category : Poems

In the back row he slouches, a scowl on his face,
Disdain for the lessons, a world he won't embrace.
Short and dark, with a chip on his shoulder,
His anger grows colder as the years make him older.

He mocks every teacher, ignores every rule,
Believes there's no point in the effort of school.
With eyes that defy, and a sneer on his lips,
He tosses away knowledge, as it steadily slips.

Yet in his defiance, a sadness concealed,
A purpose unknown, a future unsealed.
Lost in the shadows of his own bitter mind,
A boy full of promise, if he could just find.
