Stalker
The schoolyard fills with eager children
It's final recess for the day
Their innocence will sense no danger
As Evil's come to watch them play
He blends into surrounding landscape
Obscure to all who pass him by
He scans the playground for his
treasure.
A blonde haired child who'd caught his eye.
Two days had passed since he'd
first spied her.
Jumping rope and all alone.
From when he first laid eyes upon her
He vowed he'd have her for his own.
He followed her both to and from school
By way of car now parked near by.
Quite confident that she'd ride with him.
He posed as such a friendly guy.
The others he had given rides to
They never gave a second thought
Regarding going with this stranger
All falling victim to his plot.
Alas, his object of affection
Is sadly nowhere to be found.
He'd searched for her at every recess.
Each time he'd scanned the whole playground.
He finally returned to his auto.
He climbed on in and drove away
He's reassured himself in knowing
He will succeed another day.
