When life is getting on your nerves and you’re living on the brim
When you think you got it really bad just turn and look at him
Squirming about there on the ground, well he’s nobodies darling
You can guarantee in seconds flat he will be eating by a starling
He’d put up a fight with the feathered menace but he hasn’t got a fist
So you can pretty much appreciate why he’s feeling rather pissed
And he’d like to have a lovely meal but he cannot eat a crumb
Cos he hasn’t got a pair of lips and he hasn’t got a bum
So, there’s life there Jim but not as we know it and it’s living underground
He slips through all the earth and grit and he doesn’t make a sound
So if you see one on the path ahead just dig a little hole
And pop him back where he can rest in peace, until he meets a mole
