Everything is Energy? Many scholars often engage in this conversation, what is so important about this question?

Science often talks about how everything is made up of atoms.

This term is often failed to be explained in a way the average Man (mind) understands it (will comprehend it ).
Everything is made up of atoms.what is atom?
Atom is made up of 99.9% Energy hence everything is made up of energy) but how can you tell the average man(mind) this and expect him to understand when he doesn't see energy but matter (pot, kettle, your pa, building , TV set etc)

Here comes the tricky part tho
