I never regretted knowing you,
For in the chaos, we found a truth.
We broke each other, yet never let go,
Our bond was strong, our love a heavy load.

We hurt each other, day after day,
But still, we held on, through every step of the way.
Not because we were numb to the pain,
But because in the heartache, we found a strange, sweet refrain.

I cried every day, with unknown fears,
Wishing someone had warned me through the tears.
I hated the headaches, the chest pains too,
Each breath a struggle, each moment anew.

You showed me love isn't all sweet delight,
But also sour, a bittersweet, endless fight.
No one warned me it would be this hard,
That I'd lose sleep, with tears leaving scars.

I was once happy, carefree and light,
But you became my world, my darkest night.
I made you my diary, my confidant true,
And you became a part of me, forever shining through.

I never thought I'd need someone to cry to,
Until I met you, and my heart was broken in two.
I wouldn't have let you in if I knew the plan,
To make me suffer, to destroy the girl I was, to remake me anew.
