A man imprisonedBy the walls he builtLined with sinGrouted with guiltYears he spentAssembling allTurned intoA grand fine hallYears spent wanderingTrudging aboutSpeaking of his deedsCovered in doubtNever saw the lightNever saw the wayNever saw the darknessTake his life awayHere he heard the devilEcho in his brainLaughing at his sorrowLaughing at his painShadows surroundingChasing sanityHeart of his lookingFor a shining seaSomeone come knockingTear down these wallsShow this man freedomHear how he callsHe saw a sliver of lightHeard a distant callHeard a voice say his nameJust outside these wallsHere, here he cried awayOn the other side of this wallHe heard the voice say invite me inAnd I’ll remove these wallsHe said, come in pleaseDo not delayI’m am in need ofHelp this very dayThe walls went awayAnd there his savior stoodA man in a robeSaid I am your foodForget about your pastCome away with meFrom now onYou will be freeThe man he rejoicedSaid, let’s awayLet’s find a landTo share You are the wayJesus led the wayTo a journey quite uniqueBut one with purposeNot in circles and oblique
