I held you in my hands like a rose, 
But I forgot that you have thorns.  
You made my fingers bleed, 
Trying to keep you close...

 But I remembered
 That you can't keep someone
 Who doesn't belong to you.
Dear, you can leave through 
The same door you came in.

  I put you up to see the world from afar, 
While I went underground like a worm.
