Starting Over Now

This is about a chosen son
This is about a poem that failed
This is about no place to run
This is where all my hopes are 

Nailed .


The poem was full of light and dreams
And how things work out if you're kind
Such statements aren't what they seem

So,

This I hope you'll keep in mind



Dear friend,

What I am revealing

Is going to take the stain away
From all the shame you've found

To this end, forget what you are
Feeling

We're starting over now.



There are too many ways to hide
And there's too many reasons to

Mostly it's fear that gets to you
And when the lie becomes the truth


The truth is there's love
That knows your mind

It's voice , it is much like your own

The voice it has a gentle sound
The voice it  tells you  to come home


I know you've known too many streets

They know  the names 
That rhyme your feet

Your rhymes they
Don't rhyme with defeat

The rhymes
Say:

It's time  to
Taste the sweet.
