 I’ve destroyed myself 
In thinking about how you could be
How you should be 
The way you betrayed my trust 
Benign 
But I said it was fine 
Always a favorite line 
“I love you” 
Out of the blue 
And into the red 
Passionate too 
Running fingers through your hair 
Do either of us even care 
Questioning what’s really there.
