When leaders incite violence
Separate us at the core
Where race becomes a weapon
Again brought to the fore

Speaking words that cause divide
Ruination all they had in mind
Hide it all with pleasantry
So the truth it can’t be seen

Bring us to our knees
Ignore our heartfelt pleas
Cause us pain unseen before
Our dying nation bleeds

See the darkness overcoming
Spreading shadows all around
Leaders hide their faces
Behind the devils crown

Cry out for forgiveness
Pour mercy over me
Let my prayers be answered
Peace for eternity

I am but a child
A stranger in this land
Watching out for danger
My lamp lit for the promised land
