I waited to shine
But everyone was blind.
I took off my wings
And left the worms behind.I talked to many of my friends,
But behind my back they laughed
About my dreams and plans,
As did my enemies sometimes.It hurt me twice
But I took them out of my life.
I don't hear a word from them anymore,
I don't talk to them out loud.My tears don't laugh when I feel bad,
The sky is cold even on
Summer nights with the sun.
