Autumn’s presence hanging in the atmosphere,
I sit with trepidation growing within my chest.
Belonging to no one, myself included,
I watch the breeze shift the decaying branches,
And count my breath.
One – Hold it in
Hold in my sorrow
Two – Push it out
Push out the people that care
Three – Hold it in
Hold in the pain
Four – Push it out
Push out my reluctance
Feeling the chill sink into my skin
Whilst looking out over
Ominous silhouettes formed by the jagged treeline
Under a luminous crystal colored sky
Clouded by steely wisps that are
Torn to shreds by the breath of the planet
Remember to count each breath
One – Hold it in
The soft aroma of midnight
Two – Push it out
Forget all my resistance
Fall into this moment
With the lingering taste of velvet nightfall,
Sweet as the broken ice in my veins
And the gentle touch of liquid nocturn
Rising to wrap me in a cold embrace,
Surrounding my aura with intuitive thorns
That cage my Wolf up inside
Until tonight fades away
Into tomorrow’s gold streaked dawn.”
