Don't assume you know someone
Because you've known them for awhile
Remember depths exist in oceans
Sailors can't  see for miles
Just when you think you're comfortable
Within another's presence
They can drag you to their depths
With just a single sentence
I thought I'd learned this lesson
A lifetime or two ago
I had let my guard down
And that's on me, I know
The world's a little colder, now
My soul, it's a  bit disjointed
But don't worry; I'm not angry
I'm just fuckin disappointed.
