The purpose of the Word of God is to empower the listener / receiver . It’s to bring change, elevate, set free, comfort, motivate and empower. Each verse has purpose behind it. God is purposeful in everything He does and say. And The Word of God is bent on fulfilling its purpose. However , the receiver can reject the Word and the empowerment does not occur. The listener’s life / circumstances remain the same. 

And then we try to accomplish these changes in our own strength and in our own time. And we find it difficult, when if we had allowed the Word to manifest- the burden of accomplishing the goal is shared with the strength of Jesus. “Take My yolk upon you… for My yolk is easy to bear and the burden I give you is light.”
