You never really knew me
I'm a figment of your mind
Built with every poem
That you ever read of mine
I'm your imagination
Working overtime
Trying to bring healing
With each and every rhyme
But you don't know the person
And I don't have the time
I gave up self explaining
Somewhere down the line
I'm better as a figment
I'm better as a mime
Middle aged and second guessed
And here long past her prime.
