I gave up on myself,
I gave into the fear of never being good enough for you.
I'm sorry I put you through that, I'm deeply truly sorry.
Love is what I wanted then;
I ruined us because I ran.
I pushed myself to forget all this guilt for so long;
And now, for the past couple of months I've been facing the damage I caused.
I ruined lives, I see that now, clear as day.
I didn't forget, I never could. 
I got stuck in a pattern.
I didn't know how to communicate my fears back then.
