Late at night
She called his name
He wasn’t there
To sooth her worries
He wasn’t there
To keep the bad guys
Locked away
Her heart was heavy
Her eyes were moist
But most of all
She lost her voice
Fighting for
The one she loved
No longer there
A ghost that lingered
Late at night
Deep in the back
Of tangled dreams 
Where thoughts of him
Now disappeared
