I saw the trees swaying in the darkness
Exhausted and cold I fell to the ground
Thunder and wind blew all around me
And it felt as if death had found me
Cold and darkness enveloped my mind
No hope left of any kind

A tiny sound made me awake
For me it was as shocking as an earthquake
For a songbird did sing it's song
And let me know I had one more day to do right or wrong .

Such a tiny thing to bring hope to the forsaken
All alone and half dead in a land unkind
How else should we suppose that knowledge be taken
If not found by those who have almost lost their mind
