AN IGNOMINIOUS SIGN LIKE A CURSE

I am stigmatize because of my colour
To them am not human but an horror
My chance to reach the top is considered limited
Because of my colour I have been a slave without being promoted
I am mentally distressed of mark

I am ignominious because of my tongue
My idea is always discarded not now but has been like that for long
I danced shamelessly just to feed my belly
The world birthed me a name anonymously
So sad because of my colour I am mediocre

My world is placed near a wilderness
I am tagged a name despicable that brings me sadness
Warriors has fought to gain right for me but yet I am invisible
They blame me for not echoing my voice but it's so audible
They praised me publicly but disgraced my worth at my back

I am profusely requesting for freedom
Let me live comfortably in thy kingdom
Do not chase me out because am South or North
Do not segregate me into another porch
Love me and see the beauty that hides in the dark

When are we going to stop dancing to the beat of discrimination
When are we going to be heal from the wound of segregation
Why can't we offer help to other tongues
We should dance to their beat and listen to their songs
But deep down in me can we regain this right back?
