You left me with one lessonAnd, damn, I learned it wellDon't let the ones that hurt youEver know they've caused you hellnever at all.If you taught me just one lessonIt's to hold my heart down deepWhere no one ever sees itAs though it's fast asleepSo when it shatters, it's in silenceLike sharpened steelCutting me from skin to soulBut they'll not know how I feelFor that alone, I thank youI learned it oh, so wellI show the world my heavenWhile my heart bleeds straight to hellIt's made me so much strongerIt gave me higher groundI pour it out in poetryAnd they never hear a sound.
