Tick Tock Tick Tock ...
Went the old wall clock.
Its pendulum swinging
To and fro 
In the twilight,
As fleeting shadows 
Come and go
In the flickering embers 
Of dying firelight,
Awakening memories
Of those who not so long ago
Sat chatting 
And telling tales
In its warm gentle  glow.
Tick Tock Tick Tock...
I remember the smile 
And its memory
Carries me a while.
Tick Tock Tick Tock...
Time itself beckons me
And an empty chair 
In that moment is forgot 
For I am once again
Back there
In that everlasting spot
Where past and present meet
And loved ones wait
Our hearts to greet.
