Oh dear friend of mine
What bothers thee tonight
The fact that the blood will shine
Or is it cause you can't fight

Dear Death, I know you
I know you didn't choose your fate
Even though I met you out of the blue
You calmed my heart rate

I talk to you every once in a while
We talk for hours
You even make me smile
Oh dear friend what are your powers?

I see you as clear as day
I hear you quite loud and clear
Like the flower buds of may
You I will never fear

Oh death my dear friend
Since I was born we spoke
Every real law we bend
For the fur that we stroke.
