oddly enough your name is the only eligible thing i can write in cursive whenever i stop by the gas station to get a soda it's dr. pepper im pulling out of the cooler out of habit from constantly getting you one our pictures still cover the wall at the head of my bed making it difficult not to see you in my dreams the leaves seem to mimic you whispering my name as they rustle in the wind but then again when i finish writing your name i crumble the piece of paper and throw it angrily into the bin before i leave the gas station i put the dr. pepper back and grab a water instead after staring at our pictures a moment longer i begin stripping them from the wall as tears fill my eyes when the leaves grow louder than a whisper i stomp on them until my feet ache oddly enough when you left you refused to take your ghost with you you left me alone with the memories i was left alone with the heartache crumbling on the floor of the bathroom doesn't comfort me as much as your arms used to there's a huge gapping hole in my chest reminding me my heart still belongs to you reminding me that because of this, i can't move forward i can't even breathe emptiness never caused such pain before
