I bet you’re wondering when my spoken words would become unheard 

I bet you’re wondering how many poems until this girl heals how many deeply rooted scars are craved into my pretty black skin


I could tell them all in a significant amount of pages matter of fact I started this all wrong 


Welcome to this segment of my 

pretty B L A C K scars 


I write this poem to say no black poet pain is ever erased 


No scar ever really fades it’s embedded into my bones deeply rooted into my soul 


I find comfort in this pain of mine and call it home 


But let’s cut deeper cause the scar tissue tells stories that no one knows…..
