That cold winter dayShe sat at the tableReading the newsAs the sun was peakingThrough the horizonAnd snowflakes fellSlow to the groundIt brought a smileAcross her lipsSipping on coffeWith faint memoriesOf day with her fatherDown by the lakeSkating so freelyOver the iceWithout a careAnd chill in the airYet now she was olderBut the memories were thereStill in her heartAnd the warmth in her soulSwearing to promiseShe’d never let go
