The icy wind clawed as Anna and Stephen and they raced out of the woods to get home. "Hurry up Anna, the gate's almost closed!" Stephen pleaded for the small girl to go faster. They both knew that if they didn't make in time, they were as good as dead. "I'm trying." Tears ran down her face and into the wind. She was going as fast as her little legs could carry her. The giant gates were slowly closing in for the night. The two kids just barely got through before the gates shut, sealed from the outside world, keeping everyone inside safe. They we're safe. Anna let out even more tears. This was the closest her and her brother have ever been to not making it in time. Stephen pulled his sister in tight, as if to shield her from what was out there. "It's ok. They aren't going to get you." He comfort her as best he could but the truth was, he was just as scared as the little girl who was in his arms. A thought I just had while taking a shower.
