John sat in a hand carved oak chair. The room he was in was a large wide open one, with bookshelves filled with all kinds of curious titles. In front of him was a large oak desk with papers scattered around and a computer monitor. Behind that was Autumn, and behind her was a huge window that filled the room with sunlight. "Alright, you got me here, now what?" He said it with a half yawn.
"John, I've been meaning to ask you," Autumn stood straight, and looked the man in the eyes as she spoke. "There has been reports of Shade activity increasing around our borders to the north, in the Blue Mountain sector. I want you to take a look." John slowly got to his feet as he thought about what the headmaster said. "Don't you have others to send?"
"Yes, infact, Adam is already trailing an alpha to see where it's headed, but I would like to find out more about the situation and to do that I need you." She never took her gaze off him. Her eyes a piercing stare, not unfriendly but not inviting. "Why exactly, do you need me in particular?" He now met her gaze with his own.
"I have reasons to believe that they are being lead here by an unknown third party. Your certain set of skills make you the perfect person to find who it is and what they want." Autumn's stare lessened for a second. 
"There's no other reason?" John had both of his hands on the desk as he leaned in. 
"Who do you think I am?" Autumn's voice raised slightly as she stepped forward, ready.
John backed up and lifted his hands in the air in peace. "Alright, don't get yourself worked up." He dropped one hand but stopped the other halfway to point at the headmaster. "But it gets done my way. None of this 'official' crap."
Autumn looked at John. She sighed softly as she pinched the bridge between her eyes with her right hand. "Fine, but you go alone." She took a pause before continuing, visibly softening. "Sorry John, don't do anything too reckless."
John shot her a small smile. "You don't need to worry about me."
