When I Almost Lost It All Read Count : 104

Two hours and an edible later,
I exist in the bowels of solitude
Watching consciousness fade
From my soul of blood and flesh.

When her eyes fell to dust
Mere seconds before her body dropped.
Every breath came without significance
And every word I cried began to rot
The moment they touched my lips.
What can I do or say?
I'm there too, lost in fragments
And now, I stand within Death's shadow
Why the hell did I consent?

I have to come to grips with the reality
That she and I are varying degrees of comatose.
As she lay there, I scream into the void
In hopes someone can save the one I love the most.
