I thought I was healing, just distracting myself in the same self-destructive ways too painful to just be stay still with the chaos in my brain. I try to allow the good things. When I always think I deserve the worst. Other people convince me, for a moment, that I am enough. Others expect me to break down the walls. The ones I've built so solid around myself. But my walls are made of trauma, fear, and self doubt. If I destruct them, they won't have the strength to handle the wreckage. To be left with another mess I can’t repair. I continue to give off the appearance of strength. While breaking deep within. I will silently pray for small victories. In my solitary single handed fight.
