I met him over the, well known, internet. We wanted to meet in person, finally. So he planned a date. On June 4th of 2016, he came and picked me up. He had to borrow his guy-friend's car to do so. He picked me up from my sister's, because my other sister refused to allow a man she did not know, see where she lived with her family. Understandable. I can't say it was love at first sight, because it was anything, BUT. I decided I had not wanted to waste anymore time discovering Mr. Perfect, because maybe there just wasn't a Mr. Perfect for me. I gave up hope on finding him, after the last man I spent half a year with. That man changed my life for the worst. The man I was talking to, via internet, decided to take me, on our first date, to a festival. A very public setting. I was comfortable with him, that is true. However, not comfortable enough, to let my guard down. Not to mention, I had to bring my daughter, because nobody wanted to watch her, while I went on a "date". To say it was bad from the beginning, would be a lie. You see, yes he had to borrow someone's vehicle to pick me up, but I wasn't too concerned on the means he had to come and get me. I lived 30 minutes a way from him. He could have taken anybody. However, he chose to come and get me, regardless of my distance. So, there we were, at this fair. It was an okay fair, honestly. Can't say, I haven't seen better, though. He was sweet and he listened, for the most part. More than any other men I had ever been exposed to. During the date, I was admiring this light blue, cowgirl hat. He must have seen me admiring it, because he then, bought it. I was amazed,to say the least. No one has ever done that for me before. I was also worried. If he bought me something, what does he expect in return? It did not take long for me to realize, he didn't expect anything. That night, we were waiting on the fireworks. My daughter was beginning to get tired and whiney. I was thinking about how to tell this dude to skip the fireworks and just take me and my daughter home because of how fussy she has became. Then, he leaned forward and kissed me. The kiss was like nothing I've ever experienced before. And I couldn't help, but wonder, why did he want to kiss me? My daughter is fussing and I'm trying to speed this date up. So, why kiss me? The kiss was something out of a romance novel. It was intense, but it scary intense. It was passionate, but not overwhelmingly so. I found myself wanting more of it, however. We kissed several times, that night. When it came time to go, however, a girl ran up to us and started talking to him. They spoke like old friends. Then, he introduced me to her. And all I could think, was, "this girl is going to cause many a problem for us. I dislike her." I bit my lip, impatiently. Then she started telling him that she needs to go home, but her ride had to bail. She has a little son and she was a single mom. So, my guy was like, "I can take you home, if you want." I sat awestruck. Like, we're on a date! I get it, she's a single mom and all, but key word there was, SINGLE! And the way she kept flirting with him, the blunt way she was showing affection! I don't want this girl anywhere near us, on OUR DATE! She agreed to let him take her home. He brought me along for the ride. He and I, still on our date, started flirting with one another, and she then took the liberty to lean all the way up front, to yell at him for flirting with ME! HIS ACTUAL DATE! The date went really bad then. That's when I knew, they shared some sort of history. I wasn't too inclined to think about a 2nd date with him, after that. He got me home, finally, and I just thought, "how do you tell somebody that you are not so sure you will see him again, the nicest way possible?" Instead of voicing that, the exact opposite of words came out of my mouth. "We should do that again, sometime," I had said, as he helped me out of the car. I have a tendency of saying that to every guy I've ever gone on a date with, though. Even with dates from hell, like that one had been. It just came out. He smiled and said, "Yes. Maybe, next time, you could even plan the date? Since, my date idea kinda spiralled down the drain." I couldn't agree more! I wasn't about to say that to him, however. I was awestruck, once again. How could he want to go on a 2nd date with me,even though, almost the whole time, my daughter has been anything, but pleasent. Not to mention, that girl obviously has interest in him, besides friendship. He acts as though, he didn't see it, however. We went on a 2nd date. I met his parents. He met mine. Things became serious between us, before long. I fell in love with him and let down all my walls. Stupid idea! A couple months after that, that girl came back into the picture, full on! And his ex, was calling him up for help she could have gotten ANYWHERE else. His ex,he had fallen, head over heels for 2 years prior, and whom cheated on him with many a man.
