It is Raj's 15th birthday when Maya tells him about her job opportunity in the US.She wants to shift there immediately and begin a new life leaving  all the sadness and tears behind. 
 Om is not happy about Raj leaving the country but he cannot do anything about it.
Both mother and son leave for New York city after few weeks.
Om is heartbroken and finds solace in Sonia and in her children.

Maya parents and brothers are well settled in the USA.They help her to settle there fast.Maya joins a city hospital and Raj goes to an expensive private school.They begin their new life and try to forget everything.But they are too burned and scared to recover so fast.Maya has become a sad quite woman..and Raj a bitter angry young man.They work hard to keep themselves busy and become very successful in their careers. Maya is a top-notch successful city doctor and Raj starts his own software bussiness with Myra as a partner which becomes a huge success.
They live in a sprawling bungalow in the heart of New York.They are one of the most influential people of New York. Myra is an only child of Mukesh Chopra,another successful business tycoon anx a close friend of Maya's family.He helped Raj and Myra a great deal in setting up their business.And it was his dream and dedire to make Raj his son-in-law.
Everything had worked out perfectly for Maya here but there was a permanent hollowness in her heart and  her eyes were always sad. Even when she would smile brightly and act cheerful with friends she could not remove the heaviness of hdr heart.Raj could always see through her pretence and ig always mafe him sad for his mother and anger for his father and people who were responsible for her condition. He can never forgive them.

Myra drives Raj to the airport. They discuss business on the way.Myra is a shrewd business woman just like hdr father. Raj really admire her the way she handles their business.
