                             As Love Fades Away


     It is a sadness unlike any other as love fades away. There is such a feeling of total emptiness. Where your heart used to race at just the mere sight of him now is nothing but a hollow void. You become a shell of a person. A nobody wanting to be that perfect somebody for him. Yet, no matter how hard you try, how much you bend, or how often you go against your own principles for this man, your unrecognized efforts are never good enough for him.

     It is then you realize you will never again feel the closeness that you used to share or the beating of your hearts together, the gentle brush off his hand on your cheek or the sweet tenderness of his lips pressed to yours when you kiss. You will never again know that feeling of oneness that the two of you shared hand in hand, arms and legs entwined with each other or the rhythmic beating in his chest that would put you to sleep at night.

All you have now is memories of times once cherished together.

Because of all the lies and betrayals, love slowly fades away with each glare given and every distasteful word of detest spoken until it is no more than a forgotten feeling; when love dies.
