Sarah was hiding behind the wall while May Scilla (a somewhat narcissistic girl with medium length blond hair.) Smerked, slamming thier target in the head with a mace, making another small dent. Tyler Sky (quiet, tall boy with short black hair and a large serrated spear.) Was just beside her, swinging at the mechanical bear. Why was there a mechanical bear? Because Sarah was in the training room for class today. Why was Sarah behind a wall? The other two were pushing the bear to her so she can get it from behind. It's been a week since she's been in Grim's Academy and everyone in the first year were put into groups of three. Sarah was with May and Tyler and though she found May a bit annoying sometimes, she had to admit that they were both good fighters. The room they were in looked like a street that you would find anywhere in the city, compleat with cars and buildings. As they pushed the bear far enough back, Sarah got ready to pounce. They were running out of time, It would be any second now. May swung, Tyler thrusted. Then, the bear stopped and the red light flashed signaling the end of the round. "Excellent try you three!" Professor Charlie's voice rang out in his usual chipper tone. "That was one of the closest rounds today, but sadly, you have ran out of time. Please put away your weapons and come back to the observation room in a timely manner." "Damn it!" May cursed, kicking the leg of the metal animal in frustration. Sarah tried to cheer her up. "It sucks that we didn't take it out, but we came close. Right Tyler?" It was Sarah's duty as team leader to keep moral up. "We lost this time. Next time we'll do better." Tyler started walking to the door, seemingly uninterested with the conversation. Sarah and May followed, the conversation now over with. Sarah found it hard to be team leader. She didn't want to be, but once they were split off into thier groups, the professor, as Sarah thinks, seemingly centered her out to be leader. The three walked down the hall and took the first room to the left to the locker room, where they put their weapons in, then head across the hall to the observation room. They were greeted by a bald man in an orange suit, holding a cane. "The start was a bit slower, and quite frankly, sloppy. It is because of this, that you ended up running out of time. Please, however, do not let this setback lower your conference in yourselves. You were all doing splendid once you got in the swing of things!" The professor did a bit of a bounce on the word "splendid" to exaggerate it. "Sorry, we'll beat it next time professor." Sarah said "I have not a doubt in my mind about that Ms. Ross." Sarah found it odd how he only referred her by last name, but then again, he does seem, as she puts it, weird. Sarah, Tyler and May went over to the rest of the class by the window. Another annoying thing Sarah found that comes with being team leader was taking sole responsibility for everything. "Alright! Now, will Kyle, Anna and Conner please grab your weapons and head on down?" A small boy with unkempt flame red hair, a girl with long silky black hair and a large, musclar boy with a buzz cut all left to get thier weapons. As Sarah looked out into the room she was just in, she saw the metal bear leave through a large doorway at the end of the street as a new one came out. "I wonder how many of them they have?" She thought out loud. Tyler was the one to answer her. "Probably a lot. They have to make sure there's enough to let everyone fight after all." "As long as there's one for our rematch, it doesn't matter to me." May enjoyed fighting. The other team walked through the door to the room looking ready for the fight. Kyle had a dart rope. (A sharp dagger tied to a long metallic rope.) Anna had twin hook swords and Conner had a meteor hammer. (two large steel balls connected by a long steel chain.) "Alright, on the count of three, you may begin your match." The professor announced through the intercom. "One... Two... Three!" Sarah watched as the three split off and found cover in different spots of the street, being careful not to get too far from each other. Kyle on the left, Conner the right and Anna found cover behind a car in the street. Kyle gave a signal to Anna, who then jumped out from behind the car and made a lot of noise. The bear noticed and charged after her. Anna steadied herself, ready to take action. Just as the bear was about 15 feet away from her, Conner came out from his spot and thrown his huge weapon much farther then what Sarah thought humanly possible. It caught all four lags of the bear, tieing them together. The bear slammed down, sliding to a halt a few feet from Anna. Kyle now stood beside the girl, who had her swords hooked together at the ends as she walked towards the bear with Kyle. Kyle wrapped his dart rope around the hook part of Anna's swords and Anna used the as scissors and, with the help of conner, tore at the head of the bear until it twisted off. The familiar red light flashed. It was over. "My goodness! That's the best time this year! You should all be very proud of yourselves. An excellent plan executed excellently. You three can now put your weapons away and come back in a timely manner." "HOW IN THE HECK?" May looked shocked. " How strong is that damn mountain?" Tyler spoke up next. "It appears there is a powerful team in our class." Sarah just stood there, looking at the now headless bear. Writer's note: I gladly accept feedback.
