With hope, the despair of today will blossom to faith

Even if..

Death is whispering more often now

“A sacrifice of breath for a place up above

Taking away with him, time and faith

Sorrows and desolate tears in its wake

As days go by, more were robbed

From this world, some leaving unprepared

A day became like a battle waged

But still in the same war, we engage

Celebrating survival with silent joy

For dreadful fear lingered on to haunt

Haunt again like a demon in a dream

Drowning us in a dismayal stream

The piece of fabric worn on our face

Though it’s a barrier to fend off the desease

It speaks more to the mind than the lungs

Reaches more to the living than the deceased

A warning of change, somewhat a metal door

Shut on our backs and locked tight as we

mistakenly entered a place never known before

Now we stood still as the man in the screen

Announce the news that all knew would sting

And life seemed far from how it used to be

Can’t set sight on a rose before warned of its thorns

A circle of forced safety around freedom that’s ceased

But although this age seemed dark

Hidden in the black space, there goes hope

Although its reign is said to be young

Join your hands, and redemption lyrics shall be sung

Allow voices of hope echo throughout the night

Thus be a part of our hearts

For out there  it may run riot like a storm

It may seem as if  life and peace are growing apart

But deep inside it must never be its mirror

Instead we paint over its canvas with bright art

For these times of dark will be met with light

If the light was first born in the head

For to believe is for a mind to commit

A waking horizon in a country of rain
